Coats Legacy Foundation is a veteran-centered nonprofit created in honor of Darrell Coats Jr., a veteran lost to suicide in 2022 at the age of 30. Our mission is to honor the service and sacrifice of veterans by supporting veterans and their families through compassionate outreach, meaningful partnerships, charitable assistance, hope-centered programs, and initiatives that promote healing, stability, suicide prevention, and lasting community impact. We want our website to feel powerful, professional, trustworthy, and heartfelt — with a clean, modern design that reflects dignity, hope, legacy, and service. The overall style should feel elevated and memorable, while still being warm and welcoming to veterans, families, donors, sponsors, and community partners. Our website should clearly communicate our mission, founder story, programs, sponsorship opportunities, donation options, and ways for the community to get involved.
Coats Legacy Foundation was created in loving honor of Darrell Coats Jr., whose life and legacy continue to inspire this mission every single day.
In 2022, I experienced the heartbreaking loss of Darrell Coats Jr. to veteran suicide at only 30 years old. A son, loved one, and veteran, his passing left a pain that words cannot fully express. But through that pain came a purpose — to create something meaningful that could help save lives, support families, and bring hope to those facing the silent battles so many veterans carry alone.
